Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of ShapeScan. By using the service, creating an account or buying a paid plan, you agree to these terms.

1. What ShapeScan does

ShapeScan helps convert photos of real objects placed on marker sheets into true-scale SVG, Fusion SVG, DXF, PNG, STL and STEP outputs for workflows such as laser cutting, CNC, CAD, 3D printing, foam inserts and Gridfinity-style organisation.

2. Accounts and plans

• You may use ShapeScan anonymously for basic processing, subject to temporary file cleanup.
• A free account can save a limited number of jobs and use the free account limits shown on the plans page.
• Paid plans may add larger batches, more saved jobs and an ad-free experience.
• Plan limits may change over time, but current paid customers should not lose paid access without notice.

3. Your uploads

You keep ownership of your uploaded photos and generated outputs. You grant ShapeScan the limited permission needed to host, process, store and transmit your uploads and outputs so the service can work.

You must not upload illegal, infringing, harmful or malicious content, and you must have the right to process any image you submit.

4. Accuracy and manufacturing responsibility

ShapeScan can be accurate when the marker sheet is printed correctly and the photo is good, but outputs are generated automatically and may contain errors. Always verify dimensions, tolerances, kerf, fit and safety before manufacturing or using a part.

ShapeScan is not a substitute for engineering validation, safety certification or professional inspection.

5. Storage and cleanup

Anonymous uploads, temporary files and generated outputs may be deleted automatically. Account jobs are stored according to plan limits and operational storage constraints. Favorites may be preserved where the account UI supports them, but you should keep your own copy of important files.

Temporary uploads and temporary result files expire after 24 hours. Automatic cleanup is checked every minute; files used by a request or a queued/running job are removed only after they are no longer in use. Generating, editing or restoring a file starts a new 24-hour period for that temporary copy. Projects saved in your account library are kept separately, according to your plan limits.

6. Payments

Payments are processed by Stripe. Subscription plans renew until cancelled. Lifetime access, when offered, is a one-time purchase for the paid access described at the time of purchase, subject to reasonable service availability and these terms.

7. Acceptable use

• Do not attack, overload, scrape abusively or attempt to bypass limits or security controls.
• Do not upload malware or content intended to compromise systems.
• Do not use the service in a way that violates applicable laws or third-party rights.

8. Third-party services

ShapeScan may use third-party services for payments, analytics, ads, hosting, email, maps, videos or admin integrations. Those services have their own terms and privacy policies.

9. Availability and changes

We may update, suspend, limit or discontinue parts of the service for maintenance, security, abuse prevention, product changes or legal reasons.

10. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, ShapeScan is provided without warranties and we are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential or punitive damages arising from use of the service or generated outputs.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Portugal, unless mandatory consumer law says otherwise.
