Privacy Policy

Last update: September 14, 2026

ShapeScan converts photos of objects on marker sheets into SVG, Fusion SVG, DXF, PNG, STL and STEP files. This policy explains what data is processed when you use the website.

1. Who operates ShapeScan

ShapeScan is operated from Portugal by the ShapeScan team. For privacy questions or data requests, contact [email protected].

2. Data we process

  • Account data: email address, hashed password, account tier, billing status and saved-job references when you create an account.
  • Uploads: photos you submit, including supported formats such as JPG, PNG, WEBP and HEIC/HEIF.
  • Generated files: rectified images, masks, contours, SVG, Fusion SVG, DXF, PNG, STL and STEP outputs.
  • Technical logs: IP address, browser details, timestamps, errors, performance metrics and abuse-prevention signals.
  • Payment data: handled by Stripe. ShapeScan does not store full card details.
  • Analytics and advertising data: the Journey/Mediavine loader may be requested before an optional cookie choice for site verification, inventory configuration and consent management. Until consent, ShapeScan sends Google Consent Mode defaults with analytics storage, ad storage, ad user data and ad personalisation denied. Optional measurement and personalised advertising may be enabled after the relevant choice.

3. Why we process it

  • To process your upload and generate accurate downloadable outputs.
  • To keep your account, saved jobs and plan limits working.
  • To secure the service, prevent abuse and diagnose errors.
  • To improve detection quality, usability and performance.
  • To process paid plans, receipts and subscription status.
  • To measure traffic, keep the service sustainable and show ads on free/ad-supported sessions according to site settings and partner controls.

4. Uploads and generated files

Anonymous uploads are processed so you can download results, but they are not intended as permanent storage. Account jobs may be saved according to your plan limits. Old uploads, generated files, logs and temporary processing artefacts may be deleted automatically to manage storage and security.

We do not sell your uploaded images. Do not upload confidential, illegal, infringing or safety-critical material.

Temporary uploads and temporary result files expire after 24 hours. Automatic cleanup is checked every minute; files used by a request or a queued/running job are removed only after they are no longer in use. Generating, editing or restoring a file starts a new 24-hour period for that temporary copy. Projects saved in your account library are kept separately, according to your plan limits.

5. Cookies and optional scripts

Necessary cookies support login, security, language choices and cookie preferences. Analytics storage, advertising storage, ad user data and ad personalisation remain denied until optional consent is given. See the Cookie Policy for details.

6. Third-party services

  • Stripe for payments and billing portal access.
  • Google Analytics for traffic measurement when optional analytics consent is enabled.
  • Journey/Mediavine and advertising partners for free/ad-supported sessions, ads.txt validation and ad delivery/measurement controls.
  • Google OAuth/Search Console for admin SEO features, if connected by an administrator.

7. Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to certain processing of personal data. You may also withdraw optional analytics and advertising-cookie consent by clearing the cookie_consent cookie or choosing to continue without optional cookies.

8. Security

We use practical technical and organisational measures to protect the service, but no online service can be guaranteed to be completely secure or error-free.

9. Changes

We may update this policy as ShapeScan changes. The date above shows the latest update.
